Innovative solid lipid nanopartic…A systematic review.

Findings

Researchers reviewed 28 studies on solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs)—tiny fat-based delivery vehicles—for eye treatments. The results were promising: SLNs showed up to 12-fold better absorption into the eye, kept drugs active for 24-96 hours (vs. regular eye drops that wash away fast), and increased corneal penetration by up to 287%. They worked for conditions like dry eye, glaucoma, and retinal diseases with no significant toxicity reported.
