Review of the safety of octocryle…filter in cosmetics.

Findings

Octocrylene is safe to use in cosmetics at concentrations up to 10%, according to this safety review. Earlier concerns about it disrupting hormones weren't supported by the data, though it can cause photoallergic reactions in some people (usually triggered by sun exposure after using certain pain relievers like ketoprofen). It's a rare allergen overall and works well with other UV filters.
