Findings

Cold-pressed perilla oil reduced UV damage markers in human skin cells and prevented wrinkle formation, moisture loss, and skin thickening in hairless mice exposed to UVB radiation. The oil's high linolenic acid content (64%) appeared to boost the skin's natural antioxidant defenses and slow collagen breakdown—two key drivers of photoaging.
