Findings

BHT stopped cell death in lab-grown brain cells when exposed to ferroptosis triggers, working in a dose-dependent way. In rats with Alzheimer's disease, BHT also reduced the expression of genes linked to ferroptosis. This suggests BHT might help protect nerve cells from a specific type of damage, though human evidence doesn't exist yet.
