Findings
Sunscreens with Mexoryl SX provided measurable protection against UV damage across multiple markers: it reduced DNA damage (pyrimidine dimers and p53 buildup), prevented excess skin pigmentation in a dose-dependent way, and protected immune function in the skin. The higher the UVA protection level, the better the pigmentation protection—meaning this ingredient actually delivers on broad-spectrum claims.
