Findings
After 10 weeks, people taking omega-3 supplements (2,000 mg) or gamma-linolenic acid from borage oil (400 mg) saw significant decreases in both inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions compared to a control group. Skin biopsies showed reduced inflammation and lower levels of interleukin-8, a protein that drives acne. No serious side effects were reported.
