Findings
Researchers reviewed 37 studies on perfumes and colognes and found that phthalates, aldehydes, parabens, and aluminum-based salts are common contaminants linked to allergies, skin reactions, reproductive issues (especially in men), nervous system damage, and migraines. Health risks vary based on age, gender, how much product you use, and how long you use it—but the connection to serious conditions like cancer and respiratory disorders needs more research to confirm.
