Arnica montana L.: Doesn't Origin Matter?

Findings

Arnica montana's active ingredients—compounds called sesquiterpene lactones—vary significantly depending on where the plant is grown. European arnica tends to have different active compounds than arnica from the Iberian Peninsula, which could mean they work differently on skin. The study questions whether this geographic difference actually matters for how well arnica performs in skincare products.
