Findings
PLLA (poly-l-lactic acid) showed real results in clinical trials: it thickened skin and improved volume loss for at least 25 months, and outperformed collagen injections and PH gel in some studies. Side effects were mostly mild (bruising, tenderness, nodules), but here's the catch—only 11 solid studies exist, and half had quality issues, so we need more research before calling it a slam dunk.
