Findings
Lab tests show that some beauty ingredients (phthalates, parabens, UV filters, musks, antimicrobials) can interact with hormones at high doses—but human evidence is basically missing. Phthalates caused hormone problems in male rats at extreme doses, but the amounts in personal care products are considered safe and haven't been linked to the same effects in people. No credible evidence connects any of these ingredients to breast cancer or endocrine problems in humans.
