A prospective study of vaginal topical pretreatment of compound sea-buckthorn oil suppository in postmenopausal women prior to colposcopy.

Findings

Sea buckthorn oil suppositories improved vaginal tissue health and the quality of colposcopy images in postmenopausal women when used for 2 weeks before the procedure. Results were comparable to prescription estrogen ointment, with both treatments significantly outperforming no pretreatment in reducing bleeding and improving visualization.
