Findings

Psoriasis patients whose healed skin had higher levels of oleic acid (a fatty acid) showed lower inflammatory immune responses when their skin cells were tested. The study suggests that the fatty acid composition in your skin's outer layer directly influences whether dormant psoriasis-causing T cells stay calm or flare up—meaning oleic acid might help keep resolved psoriasis from coming back.
