Methodology
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated novel cream formulations containing hyaluronic acid (HA) of different molecular weights in 76 female subjects with periocular wrinkles. After 60 days, all HA formulations showed statistically significant improvements in skin hydration and wrinkle depth compared to placebo. The low-molecular-weight HA formulation (50 kDa) achieved the most pronounced anti-wrinkle effect, penetrating deeper into the epidermis. This study helped establish hyaluronic acid as a staple hydrating ingredient in both clinical and clean beauty skincare.
