OriginCamellia japonica, a flowering plant in the Theaceae family, is native to East Asia. Cold-pressed from the seeds to obtain tsubaki seed oil. Mono- and diglycerides from this oil are ethoxylated with polyethylene glycol through addition of approximately 5 moles of ethylene oxide, creating a water-soluble emulsifier.
