OriginSynthesized from polyol and isocyanate monomers, belonging to the polyurethane polymer chemical family. Produced through step-growth polymerization, where isocyanates react with polyols to form cross-linked polymer chains.
Polyurethane-36 is a copolymer of PPG-17, isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), and dimethylol propionic acid, neutralized in the presence of water with triethylamine. Further chain extension is achieved by reacting the polymer with hydrazine.
